Create and Update Jaspersoft Users slow (performance degradation over time)

Issue/Introduction

The Create and Update Jaspersoft Users job is taking longer and longer over time. You have a lot of users and whilst normally it's taking 30 minutes, it's now going up to 170 minutes.

Environment

Release : All supported Clarity releases with Jaspersoft

Cause

This is caused by Jaspersoft server performance degradation.

Resolution

1. We recommend restarting your Jaspersoft server at least once monthly to avoid such issues. For best results, restart once weekly for On Premise.
2. You can also clear the /temp and /work directories under the Jaspersoft tomcat folder before a restart to ensure full cache rebuild.

Note: After a Jaspersoft restart, the job performance should be back to normal, and if you don't restart for a while, it will eventually get worse again.
