How to get debug logs for Rally in Clarity

Issue/Introduction

  • How to enable debugging logs for Rally/Agile Central issues in Clarity PPM
  • (IE Rally Sync job is failing) 

Resolution

     1. Go to Logs in CSA

  • Or log in to Clarity PPM and change the URL as follows after action:
    • SERVERNAME:PORT/niku/nu#action:security.logs 

     2. Go to Logs – Edit Configuration and add the following Categories, going to Appenders STDOUT and AGL: 

  • com.ca.ppm.agl (agl / Debug) 
  • com.ca.ppm.rest (STDOUT / Debug) 
  • com.ca.ppm.rally (agl / Debug) 

It should look like this:


     3. Once you set one server up, repeat for the the additional ones in the server drop down.
     4. If Detect Changes Automatically is not selected you also must restart the app/bg services
     5. Once done please reproduce the issue and provide the following logs for the time frame the issue was reproduce:
    • app-ca.log
    • bg-ca.log
    • app-agl
    • bg-agl log
  • Note: it may be required to also provide the .1, .2, .3 versions of the logs as well depending on how quickly the logs are overwritten.
