Clearing UIM logmon alarm for a message when different message occurs

Issue/Introduction

This article provides guidance on logmon configuration, allowing the creation of an alarm when one message occurs in the file, and closure of that alarm when another/different message/word pattern appears.

 

Environment

DX UIM 20.4.x / 23.4.x

Logmon probe 

Resolution

Follow the steps below:

1.This is sample log to be monitored by logmon probe

 

2. Create a profile for the sample message A with “warning” severity and set Message Subsystem ID and Suppression Key

 

3. There will be warning alarm for the sample message A

4. Create another profile for the sample message B with “clear” severity and set the same Message Subsystem ID and Suppression Key

 

5. The warning message will disappear.

 

6. You will see that the message A is cleared by the message B from NAS TRANSACTION LOG.
