Jaspersoft upgrade error "unable to find valid certification path to requested target"

Issue/Introduction

The Jaspersoft upgrade fails for Clarity with error: Error: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider. certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

This is seen when running the following command:

admin content-jaspersoft csk -userName superuser -password xxxxxxx -fileName jaspersoft_csk.zip -retryCount 50 

The detailed error generated when running the command is:

Cause

This can happen if the java version has changed (has been upgraded) for Clarity and the certificate has not been imported for the new Java version.

Resolution

Ensure the certificates are added to the new java version.
