Issue/Introduction

When Spectrum loses communication with an end device, the end device is suppressed and the near end interface model alarms are critical.

How to configure Spectrum to alert on both the end model and the near end interface model connecting to the end model when there is an outage.

Environment

Release: Any
Component: Fault Isolation

Resolution

1. Disable Port Fault Correlation in the Fault Isolation subview of the VNM model

2. Set Suppressed Linked Port Alarms to No in the Live Pipes subview of the VNM model

3. Enable either PollPortStatus on the near end port model or enable the live link between the models so Spectrum proactively polls the status of the near end port.

When this is done, when the link goes down and the near end port model goes ifOperStatus/down ifAdminStatus/Up, the connected device model and the near end port model will both alarm red.
