Processes erroring with BPM-0526 error in Clarity PPM due to tablespace issue

Clarity PPM On Premise

Issue/Introduction

Processes are erroring in Clarity PPM with the following error:

Error: BPM-0526: Cannot start process. Process is not active or validated. 

In the app-ca.logs or bg-ca.logs, the below error is seen:

Error message: [CA Clarity][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01654: unable to extend index CMN_SEC_ASSGND_OBJ_PERM_N2 by 8192 in tablespace CLRT_INDX

Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: [CA Clarity][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01654: unable to extend index CMN_SEC_ASSGND_OBJ_PERM_N2 by 8192 in tablespace CLRT_INDX

Additional symptoms that may be reported include jobs hanging and the number of initiated processes count being very high. Also XOGs may error out referencing the below:

<Severity>FATAL</Severity>

<Description>This record has not been inserted</Description>

<Exception><![CDATA[SQL Exception with error code : 1654]]></Exception>

Resolution

For On Premise customers:

The fix is to extend the tablespace, restart the Clarity PPM services may also be needed if errors were generated in Clarity PPM.
