Issue/Introduction

What are differences in task timesheet population for tasks with no ETC, tasks that have ETCs (non zero), or tasks with Pending ETCs in Clarity New User Experience (UX)?

These scenarios include the below timesheet creation options:

  • Add Assigned Tasks

  • Copy Previous Timesheet

  • Copy Previous Timesheet with Hours

Environment

Release: All Supported

Resolution

Consider the following scenarios:

Timesheet is created using the Add Assigned Tasks feature

  • If there is ETC on the task, the task is added to the timesheet if the task assignment dates fall under the below criteria:
  • The Populate Time Range set in Administration->System Options (so if the Populate Time Range is set to 7 days before the time period start, the task will show up in a time period that covers 7 days prior to the task assignment start date)
  •  Any time periods that occur after the assignment finish date.
  • If there is no ETC on the task, the task is added if it falls within the Populate Time Range set in Administration->Timesheet Options (default is 7 days before time period start and 7 days after time period end).
  • If Pending ETC is 0, the task will not be automatically added. See KB If Proposed / Pending ETC is 0 in a New UX Timesheet, the task does not show on future timesheets for more details on this.

Timesheet is created using the Copy Previous Timesheet feature

  • The behavior would be the same for all ETC Scenarios. If there are Non-Zero ETCs, 0 ETCs, 0 Pending ETCs, the task will copy over even if the time period of the timesheet is not within the Populate Time Range set in Administration->Timesheet Options.

Timesheet is created using the Copy Previous Timesheet (with Hours) feature

  • The behavior would be the same for all ETC Scenarios. If there are Non-Zero ETCs, 0 ETCs, 0 Pending ETCs, the task and hours will copy over even if the time period of the timesheet is not within the Populate Time Range set in Administration->Timesheet Options. (Hours copy over providing that the day the hours are copied from or to are NOT Non-working days)

General Notes on ETC Behavior in the New UX

  • Updates to task ETC excludes any assignments that have actuals and a zero ETC since there is no further ETC expected in this scenario.
  • You can change the ETC value in Modern UX timesheets and it turns dark blue indicating there is a pending ETC. So if you have entered in time and now it is zero, you can actually add more ETC for future periods
