Retrieval of information from user's Password Data from directory.xml

Issue/Introduction

 

Is it possible to retrieve the information in the Password Data for a
user (refers to Password Data field in corporate store directory.xml) ?

 

Resolution

 

Out-of-the-box, the Identity Manager API cannot be used to access and
decrypt this field. If integrated Siteminder with Identity Manager and
are using Siteminder for password services, then the SM DMS API can be
used which has a SmDmsUserPWState class which has methods available
for accessing and decrypting the PasswordData field.
