Issue/Introduction

During a RESTORE we get the following messages: 

ADSDC195 4371 PERCENT USED: 78% - OF 921,780 TOTAL BLOCKS 715,683 BLOCKS ARE IN USE 
ADSDF002 9999 MISSING ARCHIVE RECORD 
ADSFH112 4495 VOLUME = IS OFFLINE OR INVALID 
ADSME453 0732 ERROR DURING SCRATCH OF DSNAME (DA.FDKBC101.TRBC010A.CC01.D140518 ) ON VOLUME ( ) 
ADSME453 0732 RESULT ....... 9 
ADSME453 0732 REASON CODE... 4 
ADSME453 0732 REASON........VOLUME COULD NOT BE ALLOCATED (FH112) 
ADSDM115 3055 ERROR ATTEMPTING TO SCRATCH THE DATA SET THAT WAS UNSUCCESSFULLY RESTORED. THE DATA SET STILL REMAINS ON THE VOLUME 
ADSDM077*0450 DA.FDKBC101.TRBC010A.CC01.D140518 WAS NOT RESTORED DUE TO PREVIOUS ERROR(S) 
ADSDF002 9999 MISSING ARCHIVE RECORD

Cause

During ARCHIVE, if there is no space to load ADRDSSU, CA Disk generates  message 4192 and 0465 although the data set contains data and the job get a RC=00

23.38.11 JOB32072 IEW4000I FETCH FOR MODULE ADRDSSU FROM DDNAME *VLF* FAILED BECAUSE INSUFFICIENT STORAGE WAS AVAILABLE. 
23.38.11 JOB32072 CSV031I LIBRARY ACCESS FAILED FOR MODULE ADRDSSU , RETURN CODE 24, REASON CODE 26080021, DDNAME *LNKLST* 
and followed by 
ADSDF101 4192 UNABLE TO LOAD ADRDSSU, DATA SET dsn BYPASSED 
ADSDM008 0465 dsn APPEARS TO BE EMPTY 

If ARCEMPTY is set to Y, CA Disk continues to process this data set like an empty file and finally deletes the data set.
Therefor during restore causes error messages ADSDF002 9999 MISSING ARCHIVE RECORD and archived data set is deleted  it is data lost



 

Resolution

SO03785 has been written for this problem and as circumvention we advise that the ARCEMPTY parameter to be set to N till the PTF will be applied.
