CA Spectrum

Issue/Introduction

I have an AD account to install SPECTRUM. The password of the username is not stored in /etc/shadow  It only works through integration with PAM, hence the installer failed during the SRAdmin installation.

The spectrum owner is on the box itself but not the password. It is a policy.

How do I upgrade with this user?

The AD user account didn't work because the password of that AD account is not store in /etc/shadow. As a result sradmin couldn't connect

Environment

CA Spectrum on Linux with CA PAM

Resolution

Create a local account and gave it root privileges as follows:

get access to /etc/sudoers file
create a username
assign it root rights
