Unicenter CA-Multi-image Integrity (CA-MII) is the Unicenter CA-MIM for Resource Sharing (CA-MIM) component which provides DASD resource serialization across multiple MVS systems. This technical document discusses resource serialization in general and explains how CA-MII customers can achieve higher levels of resource serialization protection.

The document provides the novice with a general understanding of resource serialization. It also provides experienced systems programmers with techniques to identify and close DASD resource serialization exposures, and to configure CA-MII so the likelihood and risk of such exposures are reduced going forward.
The DISPLAY COUNTS command can be used to determine whether your active DASD sharing enterprise has data integrity exposures. The remainder of this document explains how to setup and use this command as well as introducing to conversion from SELECT mode to ALLSYSTEMS mode.
That said, we strongly recommend CA MII customers to contact CA Technical Support for assistance converting from PROCESS=SELECT to PROCESS=ALLSYSTEMS.
