Top Secret ACID Reached 512k Limit

Issue/Introduction

Some ACIDs are approaching the maximum ACID size limit of 512k. In Top Secret 16.0, it is possible to increase the MAXACIDSIZE to 1024k. How do you do that? Are there other alternatives?

Resolution

There are 2 options:

1) If the owning ACID owns a number of resources, you can transfer some of these ownerships to other DEPT ACIDs using UNDERCUT:

TSS ADD(newdept) resclass(resname) UNDERCUT

This will transfer the ownership and the WHOHAS pointers for the resource(s) to the other DEPT ACID, reducing the size of the original owning ACID.

2) If the owning ACID owns just 1 resource which has a very large number of permits, you need to increase the MAXACIDSIZE on the security file to 1024. See Increase ACID Size for how to increase the maximum ACID size.

No Top Secret 16.0 PTFs are needed to support a MAXACIDSIZE or an ORGACIDSIZE of 1024 on the security file.
