Issue/Introduction

Error upgrading Spectrum on a Windows system. The error is similar to the following:

 

"Failed to copy "D:\Install\100203~1.00\nt\..\nt\records/../..//nt/patch/userconf.exe" to "D:\win32app\Spectrum/Install-Tools/userconf.exe"."

Environment

Any version
Windows Platform

Cause

Windows has a lock on the $SPECROOT/Install-Tools/userconf.exe file.

Resolution

Reboot the system to ensure Windows removes the lock then rerun the installation.
