Issue/Introduction
Symantec IGA (also known as CA Identity Manager) reports the following error when creating an Active Directory endpoint connection from CA Identity Manager (IDM).
Failed to execute CreateActiveDirectoryEndpoint. ERROR MESSAGE: Active Directory Endpoint 'AD_Sample' creation failed: Connector Server Add failed: code 80 (OTHER-NamingException): failed to add entry eTNamespaceName=ActiveDirectory,dc=im,dc=etasa: javax.naming.NamingException: The CCS Manager is not enabled and no remote server is configured for endpoint type 'ActiveDirectory' (ldaps://10.0.1.1:20411),
Environment
Release: 12.x, 14.x Component: Identity Manager and Identity Suite
Cause
The connector server was installed without C++ connector server management.
Resolution
When installing the CA Identity Manager (IM) Connector Server you must install the Legacy Components. This will install both the JCS (Java Connector Server) and CCS (C++ Connector Server).
The CCS is the legacy component which is required to connect with an Active Directory\ MS Exchange Endpoint.
After the installation is completed, please check that both the JCS and CCS services are running
Additional Information
If you have already installed the JCS without the CCS, run the repair function on the connector server setup.exe and install the C++ connector server, keeping all other settings the same. Once that is done, restart the services and everything should now work as expected.
