Configure Forgotten Password to Identify Users by Email Address

Issue/Introduction

Configuring the Identity Manager "Forgotten Password" task to verify users via their email address instead of their User ID.

Environment

• Product: CA Identity Manager
• Versions: 14.x

Resolution

Follow these steps to update the verification setting for the Forgotten Password task:

1. Edit the Forgotten Password admin task.
2. Navigate to the Search tab and edit the Forgotten Password Search task.
3. In the Question and Answer Settings section, locate the Prompt for primary verification screen option.
4. Click Browse next to the Forgotten Password Verify box.
5. Click Edit on the Forgotten Password Verify screen.
6. Click the Edit (pencil icon) next to UserID.
7. Change the selection to use Primary Email.
8. Save the changes.

Once saved, the Forgotten Password reset flow will prompt the user for their email address rather than their User ID.
