Issue/Introduction

The URL for ODATA v2 and v4 Endpoint, i.e., the XML load correctly. Connection through  PowerBI fails. The following error is seen:

Details: "Microsoft.Mashup.Engine1.Library.Resources.HttpResource: Request failed: OData Version: 3 and 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request. (Invalid data source)

Environment

Release: ANY

Cause

The problem is due to PowerBI not prompting for application credentials for ODATA

Resolution

1. Go to options and settings

2. Data source settings

3.  Select "global permission" on data source settings

4.  Select your data source and click "clear permissions"

5.  Restart the Power BI

6.  Log back in

7.  Connect to ODATA

8.  It will prompt you for the "UserID and Password"
