No data for Response Path elements in default Context Dashboards

Issue/Introduction

Response Path Component Elements are discovered against the "Cisco ICMP Jitter Precision Statistics" Vendor Certification.

When selecting one of the resulting elements to view its data in its default Context Dashboard all of the default Views present are missing configuration and don't provide data.

They are all set to the appropriate Metric Family but all lack a Metric selected to allow success in running the reports.

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases

Cause

This is functioning as designed. There are no IPSLA item types shipped OOTB in Performance Management. As a result, we don't have any OOTB context pages for them.

This is also valid to any OOTB component type and custom component types, not just IPSLA.

When the Data Aggregator is added as a Data Source in NetOps Portal, it synchronizes the itemsubtype for Component elements and a default Context Dashboard is created for the itemsubtype.

This results in Context Dashboards appearing when selecting a specific Response test element. But because there can be many different types of Response Path types coming in (different itemsubtype values) the Dashboard is left to the user to complete the configuration. This allows for specific selection of metrics related to the target Response test.

Resolution

Configure the context dashboard charts to use specific metrics. Once the change is saved data appears.
