Component: ACSAAS

Resolution

  • Can you use Jenkins to make updates to test cases in Rally?
    • Our current Jenkins connector does not support Test Cases. It only supports Defects, User Stories and Tasks. The link for the installation guide and download is here if you need it: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/valueops/rally/rally-help/integrating-with-rally/broadcom-rally-connectors/rally-integrations/jenkins.html
At this time it is not possible to add build information to test results.
  • We would like to test the connection with Rally sandbox before connecting to production.
    • Jenkins can be integrated with the Sandbox environment.  As our Sandbox environment does not allow for APIKeys it will be necessary to use Username/Password
  • What should be the minimum user permissions for a user account to use the Jenkins/Rally connection?
    • The connector userid will need edit permissions to any project that the connector will be accessing.
  • Can one user account be used for the integration or does every user who updates the tool via Jenkins connector need a separate Rally account?
    • Only one user will need access for the connector. We suggest creating a specific connector account. This will ensure you can track any revisions the connector makes to Rally artifacts.
