Issue/Introduction

Does office365 probe allow alarm thresholds to be set? For example, can we send an alarm on license count if it exceeds a certain threshold?

Resolution

Unfortunately the probe cannot generate alarms based on thresholds; the options appear in the GUI as part of a standard probe framework, but this functionality has not been enabled in the probe itself.

Currently (as of November 2022) only "incident" alarms from office365 portal will be forwarded by the office365 probe.

In figure above under each service under Services menu there are two monitors: "Enable Active Incident Events" and  "Enable PlannedMaintenance Events".

When Publish data is enabled for these two monitors, this will enable these type of events (if present in office365 portal)  to be forwarded and converted to alarms by the office365 probe.

Do not select the Publish Alarms option for any QoS on the default template or any probe configuration page -- it will not work. Thresholds set here will be ignored.
