Issue/Introduction

Have a Librarian user trying to rename a member using a batch job. It is failing with an RC 12 with the following error messages:
-SEL TESTAPNT,RENAME=TESTAPND
    -END
*** ERROR ***          INVALID CONTROL STATEMENT.
*** ERROR ***          ONE OR MORE ERROR CONDITIONS FOUND FOR THIS MODULE.  ALL ACTIVITY HAS BEEN BYPASSED.

The RENAME command is coded exactly as documented in the manual. What is wrong?

Environment

Release: LIB-AM00200-4.4-CA-Librarian-Access Method
Component:

Resolution

The -SEL  RENAME command is coded correctly.

In the above situation, the INVALID CONTROL STATEMENT is referring to the -END statement.

First, verify that the -END statement is starting in col 1.

If the -END statement is starting in column 1:
1)  delete the -END statement line
2)  insert a new line
3)  retype the -END statement on the new line.  There is most likely a non-displayable character on the line.

If this does not resolve the problem, retain the job output and open a case on the Broadcom Support Portal
