Issue/Introduction

Where is the meaning of the status EI of a Spool file?

Environment

Component: CSPOOL

Resolution

You can find the meaning of the status codes in the following section of the Spool documentation:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-mainframe-software/traditional-management/ca-spool/14-0/using/menus-panels-filtering-and-commands/file-display-panel.html

You can also use the help of the File display panel where you get:

Stat Status
A - Active
P - Being purged
E - Printed
S - Queued for SAR transfer
H - Held
T - Temporarily closed
I - Open for read
W - Awaiting transfer
O - Open for write
X - Being transfered
Y - Queued for Transformation

One of the possible causes of the status EI is when the printer requires intervention. The "E" status means Spool sent all data to the printer. The printer has not responded back.
