CA Disk Merge will now check for volumes in use by other Merge jobs before selecting volumes for processing when you submit multiple Merges using the MAXVOL parameter.
For example when submitting 3 MERGEs with MERGE TYPES=DYN1,MAXVOL=100 the first job submitted would select the first 100 DYN1 type Archvols. After the first Merge has mounted the first tapes, submit the second Merge job and it will select the next 100 DYN1 tapes.
If you want to run a third Merge, after the second Merge has mounted the first tapes, submit the third Merge job and it will select the next 100 DYN1 tapes, or less if there are not that many remaining.
Note message "2413 MERGE VOLUME LIMIT OF nnn EXCEEDED..." that shows that the MAXVOL count has been reached for this Merge.
Parallel Merge processing has been introduced by CA Disk r12.5 PTF RO37466. More information can be found into the Product Document Change RI37468.
