Disk Merge will now check for volumes in use by other Merge jobs before selecting volumes for processing when you submit multiple Merge using the MAXVOL parameter.
Disk Merge will now check for volumes in use by other Merge jobs before selecting volumes for processing when you submit multiple Merges using the MAXVOL parameter.
For example, when submitting 3 MERGEs with MERGE TYPES=DYN1,MAXVOL=100 the first job submitted would select the first 100 DYN1 type Archvols. After the first Merge has mounted the first tapes, submit the second Merge job and it will select the next 100 DYN1 tapes. If there is a need for a third Merge job run, after the second Merge has mounted the first tapes, then submit the third Merge job and it will select the remaining DYN1 tapes up to 100.
Note: The message "2413 MERGE VOLUME LIMIT OF nnn EXCEEDED..." in the log shows that the MAXVOL count has been reached for this Merge.
