Issue/Introduction

We are unable to IMPORT a large member into ROSCOE. 65k+ lines and are unable to do so. An AWSI INFO shows
MAXIMUM SEQUENCE NUMBER 999999 MAXIMUM NUMBER OF LINES 20000
NUMBER OF AWS'S 165 NUMBER OF ACTIVE AWS'S 1
MAXIMUM ACTIVE AWS'S 1 MINIMUM AVAILABLE AWS'S 164
DATA BLOCK SIZE 2546 INDEX BLOCK SIZE 512
NUMBER OF DATA FILES 2 NUMBER OF INDEX FILES 1

It appears the maximum number of lines is 20000. Is there a way to change that?

Resolution

The Roscoe System Reference Guide (chapter 4) advises you of the following:

number of lines the user can save in the library or the keyword
NONE. If a value is specified, it cannot be greater than eight
characters in length (for example, 99999999). If NONE is specified, no
limit is placed on the number of lines the user can save. The default is
NONE.

CURRENT LINES SAVED: This field is maintained by Advantage
CA-Roscoe. It is non-modifiable, and contains a value only when the
profile already exists. The value represents the current number of
lines the user has saved in the library. It is updated when ATTACH
LIB is executed or at sign-off.

What you need to understand is that the maximum size of the file itself is 32K. However, the number of lines is unlimited based on the 32K size of the file.

You can use UPSMNT60 to increase the limit of 20K you currently have to 32K if you like.
