Issue/Introduction

SYSVIEW can eliminate repetitious information on its displays through the Setting REPField and the REPChar.

Environment

z/OS

Resolution

The REPFIELD and REPCHAR can be set using the SYSVIEW command SET.

I.E.

SET REPChar or SET REPField

REPField Controls the use of the repeated field character. Valid values are YES and NO. The default is YES. For more information, see the REPCHAR keyword.

REPChar Sets the repeated field indicator character. On certain screens, one or more fields may be cleared when they repeat the value in the previously displayed row. The value in these fields is replaced by a repeated field character. For example, the Name and SSCT fields on the SUBSYS command display can replace repeated values with a specified repeated field character. The character must be a blank or one of the following:

@#$%\&*()!<>:./+=_-'"?;}{?~`

The default value is a period.
