Issue/Introduction

In View Monitor Options panel user changed Route termination/warning messages to SYSLOG: from N to Y and wants to know what messages will appear in the syslog. Looking at his PTTLOG and only see automated thread monitor messages using TTH. Is the help/documentation correct? Do PTT0001-4 messages exist in Xmanager When this option is set to Y? Does the product take TTH messages and convert them to PTT0001-4 and write them to syslog? If not then the documentation is not correct.

Environment

Release:
Component: PTT

Resolution

When “Route termination/warning messages to SYSLOG: Y” is set, the PTT0001, PTT0002, PTT0003, and PTT0004 messages should appear in the JESMSGLG portion of the Xmanager log. The TTH0001A, TTH0001B, and TTH0001C messages should appear in the PTTLOG portion of the Xmanager log regardless of whether the option is set to ‘Y’ or ‘N’. I just tested r19 with ‘Y’ and I got the expected results: For each thread termination attempt, messages PTT0001, PTT0002, PTT0003, and PTT0004 appeared in the JESMSGLG portion of the Xmanager log and messages TTH0001A, TTH0001B, and TTH0001C appeared in the PTTLOG portion of the Xmanager log. There’s no reference to the TTH0001A, TTH0001B, and TTH0001C messages in the field help for this option because the option has no impact on these messages.
