Can the value for LDR_CNTRL=MAXDATA in the cybAgent script be increased to 0x200000000 (8 GB)?

Issue/Introduction

Can the value for LDR_CNTRL=MAXDATA in the cybAgent script be increased to 0x200000000 (8 GB)? We currently set the value to 0x80000000 (2 GB) for the CA Workload Automation System Agent R7 Build-135 for AIX (32-bit).

Environment

CA Workload Automation System Agent R7 Build-135 for AIX

Resolution

Due to Workload Automation Agent R7 Build-135 is 32-bit application, you are constrained by the virtual address limitation so the value for LDR_CNTRL=MAXDATA in the cybAgent script cannot be increased to 0x200000000 (8 GB).

We recommend to upgrade R7 Agent to the latest System Agent for AIX which support 64-bit platform.

Notes:

• The CA Workload Automation Agent R7 is no longer supported, End of Service (EOS) 2015.
• For AIX 6.1 and AIX 7.1, the Operating System must be at Technology Level 1, SP2 or later.
