Issue/Introduction

CAT6412E - INVALID RETURN CODE FROM SORT - RC=16 

Cause

Verify the VMF file running the CATVMFV we get the following error 

CAT6412E - INVALID RETURN CODE FROM SORT - RC=16 

with no any other error messages as it is indicated on the 

CAT6412E

INVALID RETURN CODE FROM SORT - RC=XX

Reason:

The invoked SORT did not complete with a return code of zero. This may mean processing was not completed correctly.

Action:

Look for previous CAT64xx messages and the information from the SYSOUT DD statement.

But  we get the following sort message:

ICE046A 0 SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED - RECORD COUNT 529593 

Resolution

Increase the SPCVMF='(CYL,(5,5))' to  SPCVMF='(CYL,(100,100))' and adding a  //SORTWK02 DD UNIT=&SPCVMF.

Report with the status of the VMF file is displayed.
