CDM probe disk alerts are getting closed in UIM automatically and new duplicate alerts are created

Issue/Introduction

In our UIM console the CDM probe disk alarms are getting closed when the cdm probe/robot is restarted.

In the NAS console the alarm close message is displayed as:  Disk clear - (filesystem name)  available again.

 

This results in duplicate help desk tickets getting generated because the alarm is clearing and then returns immediately.

Cause

This is caused by a restart of the CDM probe because by default it clears the disk alerts during startup.

Resolution

To correct this behavior you need to be at the 6.30 version of the CDM probe or higher.

Then you need to enable the key "skip_disk_clear_on_restart" and set it to yes under the setup section of the probe, using the raw configuration option for the CDM probe.

 

 

As seen in the above screenshot, this key should already be present and set to "no" by default;  if not, you may add the key.   Set it to yes to avoid this behavior.
