Issue/Introduction

"Error 500 Internal Server Error. This server could not retrieve the document due to server-configuration or other technical problems. Please contact your site administrator" is generated when trying to copy a cost plan.

If you try a different cost plan on a project, it works without issue.

Environment

Release: All supported releases
Component: Clarity Financial Management

Cause

This can happen if a "Grouping Attribute" value is missing from a row in the Cost Plan Details. A Cost Plan may have various "Grouping Attributes" associated to it, for example, "Department", "Role" or several other options. When you set an attribute as part of 'Grouping Attributes', then the attribute becomes a mandatory field that has to be populated for each line in the cost plan, otherwise, a copy of the cost plan will fail.

Resolution

  1. Identify which Grouping Attribute is associated with the Cost Plan,
  2. Review the Details of the Cost Plan
  3. Ensure each Row has the attribute set.

Example: If the "Grouping Attribute" is set for "Department", then ensure that each Row has a "Department" defined.
