Issue/Introduction

After activation of several IDMS tools, we get following messages when trying to compile and ADS dialog : PREVIOUS TASK ABENDED WITH ABEND CODE D002 AND MESSAGE CODE 026001 IDMS DC026001 V1 T8534 TASK:DMEADSC; LINK TO GSIUPLOW FAILED--NOT DEFINED TO SYSTEM.

Environment

IBM z/OS, z/VSE, z/VM

Cause

This problem is caused by missing SYSGEN definitions.

Resolution

During the installation process for one or more of the IDMS Tools, with regard to required SYSGEN definitions,
we first load these definitions in the SYSTEM dictionary by means of one or more IDMSDDDL jobsteps.
These definitions are stored as MODULES with LANGUAGE SYSGEN.
Afterwards, we add the definitions in the required SYSTEM by means of RHDCSGEN jobsteps, using INCLUDE statements.

For these tools, the CAGJSRC library contains two members, GSISYSGN (for systems with PROTECT) and GSISYSNN
(for systems with NOPROTECT). Which one is used, depends upon the VARBLIST STORPROT parameter.
Both add a module called "GEN-IDMS" (LANGUAGE SYSGEN) in the SYSTEM dictionary.
The GEN-IDMS module contains several SYSGEN TASK & PROGRAM definitions, among which the GSIUPLOW program.

Failing to run the RHDCSGEN jobstep may result in an DC026001 V1 T8534 TASK:DMEADSC; LINK TO GSIUPLOW FAILED--NOT DEFINED TO SYSTEM
error when trying to compile an ADS dialog.
