Issue/Introduction

Database Utilities fail with the following error message in the log file:

U00031229 Error: Unable to create the comment archive with Idnr '0'.

This error message can appear in different situations and for different reasons. This article deals only with these cases where Idnr = 0 is reported in the error message.
For all other cases (Idnr ≠ 0) please open a new standard case with CA support for a deeper analysis of the issue.

Following utilities can be affected:

• UC DB Archive
• UC DB Reorg
• UC DB Unload
• UC DB Load

Cause

An Idnr = 0 means a RunId = 0. This is an invalid value. RunIds must always be greater than 0. However, when the utility fails, the wrong RunId is already in the database. I.e. the error in the utility is only the aftereffect of the underlying error. Why a RunId = 0 is written to the database is still under investigation.

Resolution

Please contact CA Support and reference this article. A database statement to delete this record is necessary. Updates to the AE database should only be made in accordance with CA Support. We will provide the needed statement.
