Issue/Introduction

After  Service Management installer finishes  catalog upgrade ,  you may need to find the files that you customized in the previous catalog version so that you can check to do re-customization based on the new version's corresponding files .

We have a few files that were in the filestore\custom folder that are no longer there after the upgrade. It was our understanding that these were not to be touched during the upgrade. Please advise.

Environment

Service Catalog 14.1 , 17.1

Resolution

if you performed direct upgrade , what SM 17.1 installer does is : it is going to

1) backup the entire catalog folder
2) uninstall old version of catalog
3) lay down catalog 17.1 software on the machine .

So the whole previous version catalog folder ( including pervious filestore folder ) is backed up into USM_HOME\SCA_backup\  during upgrading processing .   Once the upgrade is finished ,  you should be able to find  the previous version filestore\custom  under   USM_HOME\SCA_backup\
