Spectrum 10.2 Model Activation is taking longer than expected

Environment

Release: 10.2.0, 10.2.1 and 10.2.2
Component: SPCCSS

Cause

If you add the following entry to the <SPECROOT>/SS/.vnrmc file, then start the SpectroSERVER:

mdlact_debug=true

In the <SPECROOT>/SS/VNM.OUT file you may see the model activation getting hung up on the following inference handler:

16IHGnSerialNumber

Resolution

This is has been addressed in Spectrum 10.2.3 and above.
