Q ON DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF XCOM

Issue/Introduction

Cust are using XCOM in conjunction with Endevor to do a shipment (send files)
to the Production environment. Where the transfer starts runs 12.0. Where the
transfer ends runs 3.0. Is it possible to transfer between the two different ver-
sions of XCOM?

Environment

OS: z/OS.

Cause

Cust are using XCOM in conjunction with Endevor to do a shipment (send files)
to the Production environment--the XCOM versions are different (3.0 and 12.0).

Resolution

Yes it is possible to transfer files between XCOM for z/OS 3.0 and 12.0.

However: Those features that are specific to 12.0--see the Release Notes
for each XCOM release for details--cannot be used between 3.0 and 12.0.

Additional Information

We also strongly advise that XCOM for z/OS 3.0 be upgraded to 12.0
at the earliest convenience. XCOM for z/OS 3.0 status has been EOS
(End of Service) since 01 March 2004.
