Issue/Introduction

We are preparing to install CA Asset Portfolio Management in our CASM environment.  It is my understand that APM runs essentially under the same concept as SDM. In that for appropriate fail-over we need (4) servers. Database, Webserver and a fail-over for both. Please let me know if this assumption is incorrect.

Environment

CA Asset Portfolio Management 14.x, 17.x

Resolution

We recommend a separate APM application and APM web server for production environments, primarily for performance reasons. For a production failover environment, then yes, your would need 4 servers. You can install APM web and APM application components all on one server for a development or test environment. If you need fail over for a non-production environment, then only 2 servers would suffice.
