Issue/Introduction

This article outlines the procedure to configure the Symantec Identity Portal Admin UI to use native authentication instead of Single Sign-On (SSO). This configuration ensures the Admin Portal remains protected by native credentials while the User Portal continues to leverage SSO.

Environment

Identity Portal 14.5

Resolution

  1. Access the Identity Portal configuration within your SiteMinder environment.
  2. Navigate to the Realm settings configured for the Identity Portal Admin interface (default path: /sigma/admin).
  3. Remove or omit the realm associated with the Admin UI from the SiteMinder configuration.
  4. Restart the Identity Portal service to apply the changes.
  5. Verify that the Admin Portal now prompts for native credentials upon access.
