08-E0 in TSSUTIL Violation Report

Issue/Introduction

Started task acid fails with *08-*E0.

Return Code E0:
Reason: 
A password was specified at signon, but the ACID does not contain a password.

Action: 
If the ACID has a passphrase, retry the signon with the phrase; otherwise, contact the security administrator to add a password to the ACID.

Resolution

The value of *NONE* means the user does not have the physical structure in its security file record to even hold a password value.  Back in 1994 it may have been possible to add a user without a password, but that rule was changed and you cannot create a new user without assigning either a password or passphrase. If the structure was there and was assigned the NOPW value then the list would have displayed *NOPW*.  The user needs to be defined a password value.
