When clicking the binocular for the Department field, no values Display

Issue/Introduction

When clicking the binocular (browse) icon for the Department field, no values display for some users. 

Steps to Reproduce:

Prerequisite: Ensure the Department attribute is added to the project properties page

1. Click on a project

2. Click on the browse (binocular) icon next to the Department field

Expected Results: To see the list of Departments available in PPM

Actual Results: No Departments are available.

Environment

This issue applies to Clarity 4.4 and higher

Cause

• This can be due to a design change as of Clarity PPM 14.4 that enhanced security constraints on dynamic system lookups.
• Additional access is now required for these lookups. 

Resolution

To provide the user with access to all Departments, grant the access right Department - View - All at the Global level. 

1. Go to Administration->Resources and click on the Resource

2. Select the 'Resource's Access Rights' tab then 'Global'

3. Click 'Add'

4. Filter on the 'Department - View - All' access right

5. Check the check box next 'Department - View - All' and click 'Add'

Notes:

• To grant this access to multiple users, a group can be created and the access can then be added to the group
• To limit the user's access to view only certain Departments, grant the access at the Instance level (select Object: Department)
