Detailed Description and Symptoms

Installing the ECC for the first time and it will not start up. If you check the ECC log file you will see this message near the bottom:

<timestamp> 105121 [http-bio-8080-exec-4] WARN com.automic.webui.vaadin.framework.login.MainLoginController - Connection to Decision could not be established.
com.automic.decision.communication.ConnectionFailedException: com.sun.xml.internal.ws.client.ClientTransportException: HTTP transport error: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

Investigation

?The text tells us that the ECC is trying to connect to Decision but is unable to find it.

Solution

?There are two resolutions:

 

1.  If you have installed Automic Decision somewhere on your domain already:

Edit the decision.properties file usually located in the C:\Program Files\Apache\Tomcat7\webapps\uc4.enterprise.control.center\config directory and fill in the correct connection information for your Automic Decision system.

2. If you have not installed Decision (or do not plan to install it):

Rename (recommended) or delete the decision.properties file usually located in the C:\Program Files\Apache\Tomcat7\webapps\uc4.enterprise.control.center\config directory
