Symptoms

The awinstall script fails with the following error:

sqlplus -s appworx/password  >/u/u01/apps/appworx/tmp/tmp.log
  [email protected]/u/u01/apps/appworx/sql/cklogin.sql

Checking log_file for Success /u/u01/apps/appworx/tmp/tmp.log
logging file /u/u01/apps/appworx/tmp/tmp.log
     COUNT(*)
   ----------
        1
   SP2-0606: Cannot create SPOOL file "ok.log"
   ok
Fatal Error occurred - check the log /u/u01/apps/appworx/install/aw_install.log

Cause

Oracle was unable to create the spool file.  The details for the Oracle SQL*Plus error message indicate possible reasons why the spool file could not be created.

SP2-0606 Cannot create file_name
Cause: The STORE command was unable to create the specified file. There may be insufficient disk space, too many open files, or read-only protection on the output directory.
Action: Check that there is sufficient disk space and that the protection on the directory allows file creation.
