Detailed Description and Symptoms
 
As/400 Agent can't be restarted after ending abnormally
  
 
Investigation
 
The following error can be found in the Joblog:
 
error binding socket, 3420
 
The Port the Agent uses is still blocked by the operating system!
 
 
Solution
 
 
 
 Take the following steps on the AS/400:
 
.) Sometimes it is enough to just run *cnn to free the port
 
But if this does not help please perform the following steps:
        
.) Enter the command NETSTAT + Enter
 
.) Then chose Option 3 + Enter
 
.) Then search for the agent port 
 
.) End it with option 4  
 
.) Restart the Agent!
