Issue/Introduction

Error when trying to start a SAP job on an SAP Environment (number: '028'Not logged on in interface)

When trying to start a SAP job over a SAP Agent, following error appears within the report of the SAP Job and within the agentlog:

U2004081 Error in function 'BAPI_XBP_JOB_OPEN': 'Not logged on in interface XBP (function BAPI_XBP_JOB_OPEN)', Type: 'E', ID:'XM', number: '028'Not logged on in interface XBP

The job fails.

Cause

The CPIC user which is listed within the connection object of the agent does not have sufficient permissions.

 

Resolution

Please ensure the CPIC user you listed in the connection object has adequate permissions to run SAP Tasks via the SAP agent, the list of the permissions you find in the Automic documentation by searching by the term "SAP Security Objects" within documentation search function or clicking this link

As soon as the permissions are granted, the job will start.

Additional Information

There has been a known bug in earlier Versions of the SAP Agent in Version 8.00A and 9.00A until Servicepack 5 causing the same errormessages however all permissions are granted, if you use a version earlier than 8.00A or 9.00A Servicepack 5 and the permission assigning does not work, please get in contact with Automic Support.
