Issue/Introduction

When installing release r20 of the Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS using CSM the USS directory build step is failing.

Creation of directory /directory_name/ failed.

Cause

In the USS Directory Creation task error log, the error identifies BPXROOT(0) as an invalid argument:

MME0270S - Action completed with an error. Action: getpwnam_r Error code: 121 EDC5121I Invalid argument. Reason code: 0xB490000 Info: user name: BPXROOT(0)

BPXROOT(0) is not a valid user name.

Resolution

In the FILE OWNER and GROUP OWNER field specified in the installation wizard, you only need to enter the owner name, with no UID or GID number.
CSM expects a user name only (such as BPXROOT or MSMTC).
