Cause

 

Instructions contained in this document outline the steps tofollow when installing a service pack for Applications Manager 8.0 in aLinux/Unix environment.

Resolution

 

Log in as the AM user

 

Stop the master and all remote agents

 

Navigate to the $AW_Home/data folder

 

Delete the file called extract_file.dat

 

 (Ensures theapplicable files are extracted during the service pack installation)

 

Create a folder under the AW_HOME folder called SP##

 

 (Use the actualservice pack number instead of ##)

 

Copy the installation file to that folder

 

Extract  the file

 

Run the cdinst.sh from that folder while in the $AW_HOME/directory

 

Example: sh /path/to/v8/cdinst.sh <enter>

 

 

 

Follow the onscreen prompts and allow the update tocomplete, and then restart the instance.

 

 

 

Note: Remote agentswill also need to be updated before they are able to communicate with themaster. Instructions contained in this document can be used to update a masteror remote agent.
