Issue/Introduction

In Applications Manager v8.0 SP14 the Agent Install does not create the classes_alt directory.

Applicable to Applications Manager version 8.0 Service Pack 14 only.

Symptoms

The Remote Agent install does not create the classes_alt directory used by the Business Objects RA Agents and other RA Agents for additional files in the CLASSPATH.

Cause

In Applications Manager v8.0 SP 14, we modified the Applications Manager Installation script to automatically create a new classes_alt directory under AW_HOME/web as well as the start scripts were modified to add the new classes_alt directory to the beginning of the CLASSPATH.  However, this modification was not made to the remote Agent's installation scripts.

Resolution

This issue is resolved with v8.0 SP 15.  However, in the mean time if you are using a Remote Agent where a RA Agent is installed that requires additional files in the CLASSPATH, such as the Business Objects RA Agent v2.0.0, you must create the AW_HOME/web/classes_alt directory manually on the Remote Agent.  You will also need to add the new classes_alt directory to the beginning of the CLASSPATH.
