Modify BS2000 codepage to use TABULATOR character

Detailed Description and Symptoms

The range X'00' to X'3F' is not used within the BS2000-codepage by default. These coordinates are binary NULL. If the tabulator character is needed for e.g. a filetransfer between BS2000 and UNIX you have to modify the according BS2000-codepage.

Investigation

Check the according BS2000-codepage for the tabulator character on the coordinates '05'. You can do this by checking the BS2000-codepage within the UserInterface.

Solution

Enable the coordinates '05':
1) right mouse-click: properties
2) select 'Text Character'
The field is now enabled (light blue background)

Set the tabulator character for the coordinates '05':
1) right mouse-click: select HEX
2) (if you do this on windows) you can now enter "09" within the field '05'
3) switch back to ASCII to see if you have the tabulator sign within this field (looks like a "blank" field with light blue background)
