Environment

Component:

Resolution

Applicable to Applications Manager Versions:  v7.1, v8.0

Symptoms

If a port required by Applications Manager (AM) is in use by another process the AM processes will not start and a message will be displayed that the port is already in use.

Solution

Stop the Applications Manager processes, and run the following command from the $AW_HOME/c directory to free up the port.

     surun - free <port number>

This will free up the port so that you should be able to restart all of the Applications Manager processes successfully.
