Issue/Introduction

Service Manager Command without "" for Path definitions with spaces in the Folder Names

Environment

Release: AUTWAB99000-11.0-Automic Workload Automation-Base Edition
Component:

Resolution

Symptoms

If an Agent gets installed in Paths with Blanks in folder names, such as "C:\Program Files", the Path definitions in the INI files and SMD File of the Service Manager have to be set in "" like "C:\Program Files\Automic\Agent\bin".

There is one exception, the Command field of the Service Manager is able to interpret Path definitions including Blanks even when not defined with "".
If you define Paths with "" the start of Agent will abort with Return Code 555 in the Service Manager INI file followed by the error "No associated window can be found"

Cause

Cause is, that the Service Manager can't work with "" in the SMD File and will abort starting the Agent.

Resolution

All INI File Path definitions have to be made as usual like "C:\Program Files", just the Command Field of the Service Manager does not accept "", you can use C:\Program Files without "".
