After upgrading Spectrum, no Transparnt_App application exist on my switches.

Issue/Introduction

I have some CLI scripts that use the Spectrum database to trace a MAC address through my switched network.  After upgrading Spectrum to 23.3, I cannot find the Transparnt_App application on my switches.  I used to find it as a child of the switch models.

Cause

To test this in your environment, choose a switch in the OneClick console.

From the attributes tab, get the model_handle value

open CLI and run:

              show children mh=<model_handle value from previous step>

We should be able to see the transparent_App in the list.

 

e.g. 0x400192f xxx-C4500_Transparent 0x4a0004 Transparnt_App 

Resolution

During the migration,  all the Catalyst 3850 series switches lost their Transparent bridge applications.

This can be restored by re-configuring the models and re-discovering the MIBs.
