Issue/Introduction

PeopleSoft Job Object does not execute in OM 8.00A (Worked in OM 6.00A)

Environment

Release: AOATAM99000-8.0-Automic-One Automation Tools-Application Manager
Component:

Resolution

Detailed Description and Symptoms
If a space (' ') is included at the end of the process name provided for the 'PROCESSNAME=' parameter of PS_RUN_PROCESS script element, the following error message occurs:

U2007043 Process 'XXXXXXXX ' of processtype 'Application Engine' not found.

In OM 6.00A, the script element would actually start the process if a space was included (the space was ignored).  Example:

PS_RUN_PROCESS PROCESSNAME='XXXXXXXX ',PROCESSTYPE='Application Engine',RUNCONTROLID='XX_YYYYY_ZZ'

In OM 8.00A, the process will not be started and the error message appears in the job report and Agent log.

Investigation
If this error message is observed, and it can be confirm that the correct process name was entered, check on the "Process" tab of the PS Job object for a space (' ') in the 'PS_RUN_PROCESS PROCESSNAME=' parameter.

Solution
This behavior in OM 8.00A involving the space in the Process name is by design.  This was an error in OM 6.00A that has been fixed.
